Michael introduced me to strength training when I was completely inexperienced. He has been an excellent coach: modifying my programming as needed, keeping me safe through proper form, and encouraging me to reach for goals I didn't think possible. Thanks to Michael's coaching and his immaculate, well-equipped gym I've doubled my major lifts in my first year of strength training.

I just want to let you know how much I appreciate all you have done for me. Before starting your weight training program, I felt tired and unwell. I knew I needed to do something but was not sure exactly what that was. I’m glad you offered your service to me. After the first few sessions, I began to notice my flexibility improved slightly. And with each session I was able to do a little more. The more I did the better I felt. I can’t believe that sticking to 4 or 5 basic things could help me as much as it did. I appreciate you and Alison for taking out time to help me. I recommend you service to anyone who want’s to see results in their wellbeing.

I am a sixty six year old female who has used free weights for many years mostly in an attempt to tone and shape my physique.  Michael's introduction of barbell exercises that steadily, but slowly,  progressed in weight was a new concept to me and a game changer for my body.  Through this program I not only look better,  but I am much stronger, have a better core, straighter posture and improved balance.


I have enjoyed working with Michael from the very beginning.  He is clear in his instruction, serious about his coaching role, patient and encouraging.   It is obvious that helping people improve their lives through Starting Strength is his passion!  I highly recommend Michael as a coach and look forward to our future training sessions together.

I came to Michael Collins as a personal weight trainer to improve my form and lifting strength.  I was experiencing back pain at the time after I would work out.

Michael was patient and never made me feel like I couldn’t solve the issue.  He analyzed my movement pattern and was able to pick out small details that made all the difference!
